2007 steering wheel Audio Controls Upgrade
I am wanting to add a new steering wheel with audio controls as mine doesn’t have any. I have searched the forums on the 2007 and up swap but can only find stuff for the ‘05 & ‘06. I have learned I need a whole new steering wheel assembly with audio controls. What I am wanting to know is does the ‘07 already have the harness in the steering column so this can just be a plug and play? Any help would be much appreciated. Also I have an aftermarket radio and already know what I need there.

Any guide for an 06 will be the same for your 07. The wires that run from the column to your radio should all be there. I don't think they used a different harness, only one I'm not sure of is in a 1LT. The main thing you need is an 07+ steering wheel clock spring. An assembly behind the wheel that the controls actually plug into. This has extra wire pins in its connector that run to your radio for the steering controls. Yours being an 07, might have the right one in it. Might not. Really depends on "when" in 07 they made it. Since you don't have the controls already, you may have the old one and need to buy the clock spring as well.
You can check which one you have. Remove the airbag on your car and count the wires in the connector at the end of the clockspring.
If it only has 4 wires/connector, you have the old one and will need to replace the clockspring.
If it has more than 4, look for a purple, brown, and red/pink wire in the 5, 6, & 7 positions on the connector. If you got that then you should be good to go!
if you have the right clockspring connector then it should all be plug-and-play
Otherwise you should just need the newer clockspring and that's it. Again if you have a 1LT, that's the only one I'm uncertain of. So if you have one be sure to do some extra research to make sure.
