I have tried to find this issue online in the forum but have not found a problem like this. I have a 2013 Anniversary 427 1SC edition that has been giving me an intermittent problem. The radio will cut off while driving and sometimes it comes back on after 15-20 minutes and other times will stay off until I drive it again. In conjunction with the radio issue the convertible top will not operate either. We drove it yesterday to our destination (2 hours) and the radio and top worked perfect. On the way home (2 hour drive) the radio quit working and fortunately the top was up and radio never came back on. If the top is up and the radio goes out the top stays up, likewise if the top is down and the radio quits the top will not go back up. I tried the radio this morning and it still would not come back on and the top would not go down. In the past I have tried stopping the car and restarting, I had the radio removed and reinstalled at the dealer but that didn't fix the problem. What is the best way to trouble shoot this? Are the top and radio somehow linked (electrical circuit) together? The dealer can't find anything wrong electrically and there is no way of telling when the radio will quit working.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and what was the solution? Thank you in advance!
It sure sounds like it is a connector that is fretting. The only thing I can think of is the main connectors under the passenger floor board. The other connectors that you might want to check is the BCM connectors behind the passenger fender.
Disconnect the battery, undo the Blue connectors under the pass floorbosrd, check that all the pins are straight, add dielectric grease and reconnect them. Just maybe, that will fix the issue for good.
Good Luck
