My father has a 2005 vert. His goal is to get a 10 second time slip and then put the drag racing thing behind him and sell his slicks, skinnies, etc. and just street drive the car Looks like he isn't going to be allowed to race without a roll bar as a roll bar is required down to 11.00, so technically speaking the moment he runs a 10.99 he'd be kicked out as he would then require a roll CAGE, and that's certainly not in the cards. The roll BAR I can talk him into as it's pretty unsafe to drive a 700rwhp convertible with no bar anyway in my opinion. What's out there for options? Anyone with any experience installing/running a roll bar in a C6 vert? Thanks in advance.
This is from my memory of reading related threads over the years.
1) For a street car, the designs are no attractive, yet functionable.
2) The water fall and tonnou (sp) are in the way for an installation and cutting those panels may be necessary.
3) The roll bars seem to interfere (have clearance issues) with the roof's up and down movements.
4)I recall the bars I have seem installed tilt forward toward the driver, so again IMO not attractive.
5) I've seen removable bar section from shoulder to feet for ingress/ egress.
6) Lastly I seem to recall the bars were welding onto the chassis, not bolt in.
7) Plus I can't seem to recall any vendor selling a roll bar kit, most bars were custom built.
Just some out of the box recollections to aid you in your quest.
Let us know the end result and post some photos of the installed.
Good luck to your Dad's goal.
I installed a RPM 4-point roll bar in my 08 vert. Fit well, but I had to add a spacer under one on the bolt in mounting points. They are built to your needs, in Oregon.

Thanks, I actually just ordered an RPM 5 point this afternoon. I'll report back once I install it.
