Has anyone seen a comparison of the STS twin turbo kit vs the ECS or A and A supercharger kit? I would think the turbo would have a slight advantage. Im looking to add boost and since they are about the same price.... any opinions?
ECS and/or A&a over STS all day every day. Ease of install, easier maintenance, less weight, no lag, more efficient are all the reasons why a simple blower kit is better than rear mount turbos.
The extra pulleys and belt system on ECS and superchargers are negative drawbacks to me. Drag on flywheel....Also, if a supercharger implodes....bye bye engine. I know someone with the pancake style supercharger seized up popped the belt. When he fixed the supercharger and started the engine, found out he broke a piston from metal parts. For myself, turbos all day....simple setups and less cluttered engine bay. Lag isnt much on todays turbo systems.. Just my opinion...

so a blower is not more efficient than a turbo. and Im a huge fan of blowers. I have one on another car. less weight depends, there's not much difference. Maintenance? What do you do? change their oil? Im being sarcastic. Blower bearings wear out also. it turns... they both do. What maintenance? You have belts on a blower. Im not saying an A and A or ECs kit isnt better... Im just saying you arent exactly correct imho.

I didnt say a blower is more efficient than a turbo, I said its more efficient than a rear mount turbo. Theres a huge difference in weight when your charge piping has to run all the way from front to back instead of from the front of the engine to just in front of the radiator. If you know the answer why ask the question?
Just go read the quickest/fastest lists and tell me how many utilize an A&A/ECS/front mount turbo versus a rear mount turbo. You have excessive volume to fill on both the exhaust and charge air side that creates lag. Sure, you can compensate by using a smaller turbine housing to combat the slow spool time but thats just a compromise.
