I have these push rivets on the splash guards of my '07 base. They have a very thin head that sits down inside a shallow cup on the base. I don't want to mar them up as they are easily seen on the splash guards. Is there a trick to removing them or are they like all the rest and need to be pried up?. Need to get into the fender vent to install grills.
Have managed to keep them from getting too marred up using it. Reused the pins on the front fender well after swapping headlights. I ordered some spares though when adding after market splash guards, good to have on hand...

The tool helps. You can use a flat screwdriver too. You will see a flat spot to slide a screwdriver under and pull up the center part, then pull out the whole push rivet

The ones on my car have a small flat spot and look just like yours. On the other hand, don't worry about it. Just use anything to get centers out and don't worry about damage to the rivet. (Although a plastic tool will do little to no damage.) Just run to the Autoparts store and buy new ones or go online ==>
Also, spray a bit Dry Teflon lube on the center plastic part. Makes them super easy to install and remove next time but doesn't affect the holding power.
