Ever since the dealer flushed and refilled coolant in my 2013 427 vert, there has been occasional coolant leaks after using the A/C for a while on hot days. Since I live on the coast, and have a convertible, I don't use A/C that often. Got under the front and noticed the petcock valve on the right (passenger) side of the smaller radiator was wet. What is going on? Have not had the chance to take it back to the dealer but want to be prepared. Thanks.
I had the same problem. Drained radiator and pulled out the screw in piece and replaced the rubber washer. Less then a dollar to fix. It is plastic so DO NOT try to over tighten.
unless the stealership is covering this under warranty i would STAY AWAY and hold on to YOUR CASH, run and save.
1st check and verify the issue than make your decision.
remember they are there for maximum PROFIT.
Hi folks, sorry for the late response. Got under the front and noticed the lower radiator drain was wet on the passenger side. Took the car to dealer (Premier Chevy - Carlsbad, CA) and told them it was leaking from the passenger side drain petcock on the lower radiator. They replaced and refilled the coolant. Told me the part is cheap plastic with a thin o-ring that obviously tore off when the coolant was drained. 16.00 part and 20.00 coolant, but they didn't charge me.
BTW, while waiting I ogled a C8 yellow vert sitting in the showroom. They have it priced $30K over list at $123K. Previous owner (Weseloh) never did that. Guess that's what you get when a large stealer conglomerate comes to town. Oh well....
