Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong area but it does pertain to performance.
I was wondering if there is a reason that I'm having a hard time finding a shop/company that will build up a 6 speed auto ? Everyone seems to only offer a package for the 4l80e but not the six speed series.
One shop said this "Its the tuning thats a issue for the 6l80e" but they never expanded on that statement.
I just want my trans to be reliable with 500-600whp
A new one from dealer or a solid stock rebuild will last a long time with the proper tune. IF 600rwhp is all you want, just buy a new one, add a nice trans cooler (a must) and find a GOOD 6L80 tuner - you'll be set.

Thats actually pretty amazing to hear! My current trans lets go hard when it goes up from 2-3 or down 3-2 so it made me question it but if new stock is all that I need paired with a good tuner then I'll definitely go that route.
P.s you would happen to have a recommendation for a good tuner would you haha
There is a reason the big transmission guys (Rossler, RPM, etc) won't touch an A6. I have a Rossler A4 in my '98 C5 that has been bulletproof over hundreds of drag strip passes. I have a Century A6 in my '12 C6. I have nothing bad to say about Century but the A6 has been "finicky". If I had it to do over again I would have invested in the RPM A6 to A4 retrofit.
