GM Tech 2 Tool
Are there any softwares out there that work with a USB obd2 cable?
I need to bleed my brakes and need to cycle the ABS pump.
Thanks!
Also, since it's a MDI clone that works with the cracked Tech2win and cracked GDS2 software that comes with it, will work for C5 through C8 corvettes. A tech II hand tool (and clones), only works with C6 and later vets, since it does not have/can run GDS2 software (the reason that dealers got ride of their tech II;s and now use TDS with MDI's isntead.
And yes, I have a Tech II clone that I changed out it Dc to DC converter since it a know problems ,and two Nano's, and my tech II clone just sits around collecting dust since I use the nano most of the time instead. Hence since it a MDI and has faster transfer rate, if I need to flash something, Nano is already on the car connected to the computer, so don't have to change a thing.
As for tech II hand held clones, what they don't tell you up front. The DC to DC converters will go south in a few months of use, so you need to change the converter that goes for $20 (and tests your de-soldering skills). Since most laptops do not have a Rs-232 port, only a USB ports, you need to buy a usb to rs232 cable at around $20 if you want to use it to firmware flash with either TIS2000 or TDS. There is only two cables that are know to work with the tech II. Next, since the hand held Tech II does not use the OBD II port power, you need to have the device plugged into either the cigarette lighter or connected to the battery. Also the clone cards for the clone hand held Tech II's are know to go bad after a while, so you really want to have an extra software card ($40) at the ready, to solve that one mid repair if it happens.
The Nano on the other hand, comes with it own UBS cable, pulls power from the laptop, runs off the software on the laptop, so pretty much plug and play, without having to buy a bunch of other stuff instead.

As for VX GM nano, yes on it replacing the hand held Tech II clone, since the Nano runs its needed programs on a laptop instead. The Tech II program that you used to seeing on the hand held scanner, will be the same looking screen that you will get when running Tech2win on the laptop with the nano. Also since it a MDI with tech II back step, it runs GDS2 that works on the C7 and later cars.
