Default Speed engineering headers and x pipe

Ordered speed engineering headers and x pipe to cut down on cost of build as I was originally going to get some lg, kooks or arh headers and x pipe. Question is is their any reason I shouldn't get them and cancel my order? Anyone have bad experiences? Not doing the install myself but trying to get everything lined up. Read that the clamps that come with the set up are trash so anyone that had them reccomend something different? Also, same thing with the gasket, read the one that comes with setup isn't great either. Any input is appreciated. Started to lean towards an A&A supercharger vs doing a mild cam. Thanks in advance!

I’ve had mine on for years, use your old gaskets and bolts. The only thing I ordered separate was 02 extensions, I got the 31 inch extensions. Also used the clamps that came with them, I’ve had no leaks or issues, have had the x pipe on and off several times reusing clamps, no issues.
YMMV.

Yes very satisfied. T304 stainless is T304 stainless, I couldn’t justify 2k for a name brand.
The welds all look great, fitment was great, and they sound great. I used the money I saved to pay for the tune....

I picked up a set from TPS Motorsports (site advertiser) I installed them last weekend. Zero issues and sound great. 08 A6. No cats. Sorry I don't have picks of the rest of the install. I was in the moment of getting it done. With the new tunnel plate my total was $1200. Came with wire plug boots, Stage 8 locking bolts, all clamps and 02 extensions.

Awesome, why did you decide to go with using s tunnel plate in addition?

it is thicker, to stiffen up the body and absorb more heat. You can get the tunnel plate with heat shield for a little more. Unfortunately I'm a cheap masters so I didn't get the insulation I also picked up heat tape and DEI heat insulation to wrap the trans cooling lines. They are pretty close to the headers. With the wrap and tape, the temp has stayed around 160

Speed Engineering didn't work for my 05 6 speed. I fought with the install for several hours. Wouldn't clear clutch bell housing. Sent them back after talking with owner and seems 6 speeds do have some issues. Autos don't seem to have the issue. Ended up going with Kooks and everything bolted up perfectly the first time. Worth the cost for Kooks. Search my old posts for more info.

Gotcha I wasnt initially worried about heat issues given I live in ky but it's something to think about I guess. Dont believe I had it on my mustang. Figured you may have done it more for inside cabin sound purposes.

The sound doesn't bother me, my camaro is way louder, so I am kinda used to it. It does stiffen up the body flex.

I had pretty much decided on some speed engineering headers then I came across the TPS and now I’m reconsidering. They are twice the price but still priced well compared to big name brands. I believe I’m going to go with the TPS because they offer high flow cats and SE does not. Glad to see you like them. I can’t figure out why more C6 guys aren’t using these. They are American made and supposedly fit great and cost less than half of the big name brands.
