No that's that a problem, I think we were warning you about the other idiots. You have all the information in the world at your fingertips and just because this is corvette forum does not mean these people know what their talking about, most of them don't and there are many here that will tell you all about it and don't even own one. I would think you would want to be informed by the people who designed and built the car. And not someone who thinks because GM got a bad batch of valve guides , they don't know how to build or design a car
Bringing this back to life. Just wondering what you ended up doing. I am also shooting for 1000+ To the wheels. I am on the stock short block with the vortech V3 Ti and have already been over 190mph pretty easy at only 10psi. I’m building a 416 now using a tsp sleeved block, forged rotating assembly and Mamo ported afr heads. Fact is do your research, get the right parts and the motor is gonna make what it’s gonna make. I can’t believe some of the responses here. Good luck

I know, several users have told me about their experience with over 1000 horsepower using the stock block, modifying only the APR studs, forged pistons, connecting rods, shaft and head gasket and cylinder heads, ultimately the life of the engine depends on how you use it

cool. So have you made progress in your quest for 1k? I’ll go out on a limb and say getting to 1000 isn’t that hard. The hard part is the maintenance and upkeep. Also all that is needed to make it somewhat reliable is expensive. Clutch, trans, driveshaft, diff, axles, fuel system, tires, tuning etc etc...my advice is to be fully freaking committed. It’ll happen. Then you’ll want more. Just take your time. There is some good advice in this thread.
