2007 C6 LS2 spark plugs ?
Quick way to spot a fake plug,
The wrench flat will not be laser etched marked, but either stamped in, or missing completely.
Look at the tip width size (electrode), and the cathode of the plug. The electrode will be way fatter at the tip, and the cathode will be the same cheap chrome plating as the threads of the fake plug.
The last way to tell, is just check the gaps on the plugs. Real plug will be gaped at .040" on the money for every plug you pull out of the box (since gm does not want you screwing with the gap/marring the cathode plating), while the fake plugs will be gaped all over the place from plug to plug isntead.
Note, cathode on the real plug will be slightly discolored, since heat induction is used to soft it so it can be factory gaped correctly in the first place to that .040" gap.
Simply, who knows that the fake plug heat range really is, what resistance the plug has, and since the electrode and cathode are not correctly plated with the correct materials, no way in hell that they will last the 100k. .
And note: since one of the responders stated that there plugs only last 50K, would dare to guess either wrong heat range for the way the motor was tuned/modes to the motor and the plug should have been cooler, or fake plugs where used during a plug swap out.
Hence if running say boost, then the correct A/D delco plug is the 41-104, which is the same plug in the LS-9.
As for why the swap from the 41-110,
To the 41-163, its the electrode tip shape, that gives the plug longer life over the 41-110 and allows the tip itself to burn off carbon better with higher oil consumption problems, to take the motor another 100K plug life (to the 200K mark), since the 41-110's should have lasted the first 100K miles on the motor.
