Default Drain Plug Debris (pics)

I just wanted to check in with you guys to get your thoughts on the debris pictured on my drain plug. Came out of my H/C/I LS7 with 24k miles, oil changed regularly. Thank you!

I’d cut the filter open. That seems like a lot of metal

Well, my 2 cent comment is it looks normal, except about twice as much as I'd expect with the oil changed regularly.
I would not be to concerned, save the photo to compare to the oil change.
(Cutting open your used oil filter is a sound idea ... and may offer insights or fun )

Did you look at the drained oil when you changed it? If bearing material is there it'll look like glitter swimming in the oil. If you didn't, drive for a 1000mi or so & look at a sample of the oil, put a few ounces in a glass jar lid & check it with the white background... tells you a lot.

Cut the filter open and inspect some more. If it looks like a glitter bomb you have an issue.

Doesn’t look like there’s any metal chunks on there... I would def cut the oil filter open and inspect and also send off a sample to Blackstone to be sure tho...

The old oil went right into a big canister so I didn't get a chance to look closely. Also, I ditched the filter before I though about cutting it open. That was the first oil change I had done on the car, I'm hoping the previous owner just didn't wipe the plug clean during the previous oil change. I'll look at everything more closely during my next oil change and report back.

Thank you all for your input!
