Hello, i have 2008 base C6 corvette. Few days ago i mentioned that tachometer was going up and down, and got the check engine notice. I checked it with OBD and got two error codes P0171 & P0174. Could you please help me and tell me what can be the reasons for that?
thanks in advance
I don't know about these codes, but some codes are hard codes and you can't erase them yourself.
You have to fix problem and drive can for a time. When car sees things are right ,it will remove the codes it's self.
Has ANY recent maintenance on the car been done recently ??...with these lean codes you may have a vacuum leak, a MAF or fuel delivery issue...if you have a scan tool see what your fuel trims are at idle and then raise the RPM to 3000 for a few minutes...if fuel trims decrease you have a vacuum leak !!
Friends, many Thanks for your replies, i bought the car 5years ago with 28K miles, not i have 61K miles. During this period i have not changed the spark plugs, not engine air filter. Can they be reason for this errors? what else is recommended to change for maintenance? thanks in advance
If anything a dirty air filter would give you a P0172 and P0175...rich codes not lean !!...like I had mentioned look at your fuel trims and see if they decrease at higher RPM’s !!
