C6 Corvette lower radiator support/cradle alternative.
A homemade alternative to the weak aluminum OEM cradle thats costs a couple hundred dollars to replace everytime it cracks or bends. My car is supercharged and the radiator needed to be lowered about an inch to fit the intake of the blower so you may need 7" of height instead of 8" if you are N/A. I seen a few like this built but nobody had instructions. So here's the way I built mine using scrap from work. It sits higher up about 1 or 2 inches over the OEM cradle which is nice.
The mounting plates are 8"x2" with 1/8" flat stainless. The stock mounting holes on the frame are 6 1/2" away from each other.
The height I used is 8" from mounting plate to the closest side of the 90° pipe.
The radiator tabs are 26 1/2inches from hole to hole drilled at 1".
The piping is just standard 1 1/2" schedule 40.
I'll update this post with any changes I make and any issues I may run into down the road. My car is low and I drag race it so I'll be putting it to the test.
