Default C6 radio

Hello everyone!!,
I have a c6 2012 corvette and I wanting to switch out the old radio with a factory navigation radio but I was having questions on which year or years radio will be the best for my car. Another question I had is that I have base speakers as well and I was wondering if a bose radio will fit as well or are all the radios the same. Not to sure on this stuff so I would really appreciate any tips or advice. Thank you

If you don't have bose label on the door speaker panels, then you don't have the third wiring harness in the car for VSS needed for the OEM nav radio.
On standard radio, but with bose in the car, the extra connector to install Nav, it just taped back on the main larger harness unused.
So regarding oem nav, later the year the better, and keep in mind that you will need to add the third connector and tape into a few of the factory wires, and even add a few.
Next, once you do get the nav unit in the car, it going to security key lock when you go to start the car, and will need a Tech II to go into the Nav radio to clear it lock memory, so it can lock your car's BCM on the next start up.

Better off, would be to go with a after market Kenwood nav system isntead. You will need to tap the VSS wire in the car for that signal, but the rest will be a walk in the park with after market module wiring to get it all working. Plus, will not need a tech II to marry it to the car.

I cant tell you much about putting in factory nav unit, but I would go aftermarket. You get bluetooth ,android auto, updated maps, voice control, backup camara, hands free phone, ect. Just buy from Crutchsfield and they will make a new harness and/or specify what other harness(s) are needed. This makes it for the most part plug and play. You will be able to use you steering wheel controls also. They tell you all parts need for install. I have done a lot of installs during my day but I still like using them. They make it where just about anybody can do their own install. They also provide tech support for free. FYI I do not work for Crutchsfields.
