I am getting a set of Kooks 2" headers and catted xpipe second hand and will need to buy new O2 sensor extension cables. The ones Kooks sells direct are over 100$, and even more when you factor in shipping. I found these two sets on Amazon (links below) and wanted to confirm that these would also work. Looks like they are longer than the ones Kooks sells which is fine, but will that make it harder to tuck the cables around the exhaust? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Would like to save some cash and get them faster if possible. Thanks!
I was planning on tuning it. Aside from the performance improvement, I was under the impression that even with both sets of O2 sensors installed, the car would throw codes at you. Is this not the case?
Yes, the rear 02's will throw a code, until you tune that out. You need the fronts for sure to have everything run right, but the rears are not required. On mine for example, I installed new extended fronts, installed the original rear 02's to plug up the rear holes. I then cut the plug side off the wires and tucked them away. So if someone looks, it looks as though rear 02s are installed, but they are really not electrically connected to anything. Then just tuned the rear 02s out, which turns out the CEL and removes the code.
I see. Thanks for the info. Using them as plugs does sound ideal, but I don't like the idea of cutting the wires off in case for whatever reason I want to put the stock exhaust/tune back on. Im assuming they make plugs for the rear O2s? Im guessing it would be cheaper than buying these extensions to basically just plug the holes.

No problem. Yes, there are plugs available. The reason I cut the plugs off was it was easier to hide the wiring to make it look it is wired in case of a visual inspection during emissions. If your state doesn't do inspections, a plug or cap would work great.
Last time I got my emissions done here in GA, I believe they checked under the car with a mirror for the cats, but I doubt they checked for O2 sensors. Maybe to be safe, Ill go ahead and get the extensions just so they are there. Not a massive expense for some peace of mind.

I wrapped mine in "heat tape" also when I installed the extensions. During the install I would just make sure they are properly placed so they don't get fried by the LT headers.
Thanks for the tip. I bought some heat tape to go ahead and wrap some other parts that I heard get close to the pipes (clutch line, trans lines, etc). Is there a way to attach the O2 cables up against the underside of the car easily so they dont hang down and touch the exhaust at any point? Didn't know if there were clips or something that would work well anywhere under the car. Im assuming zip ties would just fall apart with all the heat.
