I noticed my clutch pedal in my 2011 GS is making a squeaking noise after I push it back and forth several times in succession. I though it was just needing some grease at the pedal, but it sounds like it is actually coming from under the hood somewhere around the clutch reservoir. I cant exactly pinpoint it while Im in the car. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there an easy fix? Can't exactly here it while driving or even a whole lot at all when the hood is closed, so not a big deal, but I'd like to address it if it isn't a huge deal.
It could possibly be coming from the clutch pedal assist spring. They are supposed to be greased so they don't squeak, but of course that grease will wear off over time. It is located inside the car at the top of the clutch pedal.
SWAG! I think it's the clutch pedal assist spring also. Get some Teflon lube in a spray can and spray the "ears" of the spring and the U attachment in the center.
Teflon Lube:
advantage - gets rid of squeaks better, dries in a few seconds, does not collect dirt, wipes off most surfaces easily.
disadvantage - goes on wet, dries white. You get it on something like carpet you are stuck with it.
Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I will start with the clutch assist spring and see if that helps. I'll test it out this weekend and report back with the results.
