Default TPS header install fitment issues

Having some clearance issues on the header install on my ‘12 grand sport. Passenger side is contacting the trans lines and drivers side
Is contacting the bell housing. Any advice is appreciated, I’m hoping something can be done that’s not too drastic before sending them back.

Man that sucks, I have read a lot of positive reviews on these headers as far as their fitment. I believe I’d be sending those back if I were you.

Kooks wants you too install from the rear forward, loosen the headers and start from the rear tightening as you go forward

This is the correct answer. The reason you pay more for Kooks or Stainless Works, etc. is not having fitment issues.

I do not recommend ARH by the way. I had a set and the trans cooler lines also rubbed and I had to bend a pinch weld on the frame for proper clearance. Have had 3 sets of Kooks on 3 different cars; fit perfect every time.

I have the same headers on my base 08. Mine did not contact the bellhousing but I did have to reroute the trans lines(bend them) and wrapped them in DEI heat wrap.

For the lines, you will need to bend them as high up as you can to get clearance.

You might be able to get a little bit more clearance by installing all the header bolts until that are just starting to tighten up but are still loose enough that header can still move. You will then need someone under the car pulling down on the headers at the collectors while you pull up on the header flange at the front of the engine. You may get enough of a tight to give enough clearance.
