I just had my 2013 A6 rebuilt, and as we are road testing it, intermittently the 2 to 3 shift, shifts extremely hard. Prior to having the transmission rebuilt it was flaring really bad from 2 to 3, and at WOT it wouldn't make the shift at all. It has never kicked out a code. When we opened it up all the soft parts were fried. We changed out all the internals to new parts including the hard parts. Also installed a 3200 stall at the same time.
So my question is what could be causing the intermittent hard 2-3 shift? Without a code we are kind of guessing here. We are thinking it must be a control problem. Does this sound like a pressure solenoid problem? Does the TCM possibly need to be changed?
That's not too much.. My stock 6L80 has lived at that and above for a while. I can't stress this enough - Make sure you have a GOOD tuner for these transmissions.

There are only really two tuners I know of in the Salt Lake area that I am aware of, and I am not sure I trust either anymore. May see what is available in Vegas.
How can a custom A6 tune affect solenoid pressures? If I had a custom tune done on my otherwise stock A6 previously and now have built the transmission could the tune cause intermittent hard shifts between 2-3? I am by no means a transmission expert.
If you have an aftermarket radio I would suggest you pull the radio fuse before flashing the TCM. I just had my trans in my 06 rebuilt including a new TCM. When the TCM was flashed it screwed up the PAC RP5-GM11 interface. Had to pull the radio fuse to get the CAN bus to communicate. New PAC unit in the mail today so hopefully I will be back with everything working. I sent a PM to Dano523 and he is the one that told me about pulling the radio fuse first to keep this from happening.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
What brand of clutch packs were used and who did the rebuild?

We used Raybestos packs. A shop in Salt Lake City that I was highly recommended by other forum members did the rebuild. I am starting to think I made a huge mistake. I should have shipped you guys the car. It would have been easier at this point.

See if you can get a copy of your tune and email it to me. I might get lucky and find something that isn't right.
The new TCM fixed the shifting issues completely. It now just has a factory tune. I am going to get the custom tune off the old TCM and email it to you to take a peak. Car is running great now though.

Did you have to take it to a GM dealer to flash the TCM with the VIN and stock tune? BTW, I see your location is Ogden, UT. Prior to retirement I worked for Westinghouse and I made many visits to the Zirconium plant there. Nice town.

No, I didn't have to take it to the dealer. A guy who does that stuff came to us to do the flashing. He charged a $160.
Yeah I have lived in Ogden for about 3 years now. I like it here a lot. Hard to beat the views around here.
