I have a an 06 with manual transmission and I am installing an Alpine iLX-W650 and a rear camera. I am using a GM1A-R harness to preserve the factory Bose amplifier. Everything sounds great and I got the rear camera working by temporarily providing power. I was hoping to use the feed from the GM1A-R harness (Purple/White Reverse Output [+] ) but it not triggering the reverse for the stereo (have to manually switch to camera when going in reverse. Obviously not a huge deal but would like to have that working by auto switching the camera on when going into reverse if possible.
Do the manual transmissions not provide a reverse output wire from the factory radio connector?

No, and just need to pick up the back up lights positive wire for the camera trigger wire source.
As for the positive note, the unit only puts out 16 watts per channel rms, so will not need to add in resistors on the speaker positive wires to adapter to drop the voltage down a bit to the Bose amp.
Also, keep in mind that if your running a android phone, android auto works off USB and blue tooth at the same time so make sure that you run a USB off the radio to micro USB connector to where you will have your phone placed.
Android Auto: The Alpine iLX-W650 supports the Android Auto app for Android smartphones running OS Lollipop (5.0 or newer). Your compatible Android smartphone must be connected to the Alpine receiver's rear-panel USB port via the included USB extension cable and your phone's USB cable, plus be paired via Bluetooth (your vehicle's parking brake needs to be engaged to initially setup Android Auto). Android Auto extends the Android platform into your car in a way that's purpose-built for driving and automatically brings you useful information and organizes it into a simple on-screen interface that is simple to use in the vehicle. It's designed to minimize distraction so you can stay focused on the road ahead. Features of Android Auto include -
So it turns out the reverse (purple/white) wire does not go to the factory harness but to the GMA1-R interface. If I ground the wire it does kick on the camera but it does not seem to receive a ground signal from the factory harness when I put it in reverse. I will just use the camera button on the stereo and not worry about it.

Hey thanks for all this info. The GMA1-R has resistors in it already for the amplified Bose system. The manual actually tells you to cut the wires below the resistors if not using the Bose amplified system.
I did this exact set up. I wired the camera to the power wire on the reverse lights. Then I ran the camera wire up through the grommet in the trunk behind the tail lights on the passenger side.
Quick follow-up. I was installing a new reverse lockout solenoid last weekend and noticed the reverse lamp indicator was unplugged. I suspect the shop missed that plug when they changed my clutch. I plugged it in and went right inside the car and tried reverse. The GMA1-R interface does indeed provide reverse trigger from the factory harness. I no longer have to select the camera from the menu, I just put in reverse and it immediately switches to camera.

This isn’t correct. The reverse trigger wire does work with the M6. Check the settings in your head unit to make sure the camera is activated. My cameras (front & rear) are connected to the red wires behind the head unit & are not spliced into any other lights/wires in the car. This also allows me to view the rear camera while the vehicle is in forward motion if I choose by hitting camera on my screen.

I only have a back camera but I plan to add a front one. I "bumped" a parking lot wheel stop with the front facia at very low speed but still got a small scratch

I usually back in everywhere but the front camera is invaluable if parking straight on.
