Default 2010 base manual header exhaust advice

I just got my first vette. I want headers and exhaust. I've been researching this site and others and think I want ARH and Corsa sport. I live in Ca but passing smog won be a issue. My question is. Can I buy ARH long tube and Corsa sport cat back exhaust and will it all bolt together? Is that the way to go or should I ditch the cats. Sorry if thats a dumb question, I'm new .Any advice will be appreciated.

most headers come with a mid-pipe that will work with any cat-back system. The usually are designed so that the slip connectors just ahead of the axles line up in the OEM location.

Some headers come with choice of race or with Catalytic converters

The ARH long tube system comes with mid-pipe hi-flo cats (https://americanracingheaders.com/co...vette?sort_by=) & will match up with the Corsa Sport axle-back system (https://www.corsaperformance.com/col...h-exhaust-tips). The Corsa's are also available with 4" tips.

yo be careful. if you change headers you will need a tune. California just started failing cars with tunes.

Thanks for the input. It looks like its gonna be awhile before the headers ship so I'm gonna pull the trigger on some soon. Anyone know of a good tuner in Ventura county? I work in Santa Clarita so a guy near there would work also. I have a place in AZ, Im gonna get it registered there. No smog. That being said. Should I go with hi flo cats or no cats? Any advice on a CAI with this setup? I lurked this sight for a year before I got my car. Im pretty much addicted to my car now and this sight. Never drove a vette until mine. Only rode in a 97 auto. The power is awesome.

I would advise against ARH and suggest Kooks instead. I had ARH's on my 2011 and they were so close to the frame, I had to hammer the crap out of the the seem weld for clearance. They also were too close to the transmission cooler line on that side as well. I currently have Kooks and they fit perfect with zero modifications and plenty of clearance for the trans line because the Kooks included a bracket that pushes the line up and out of the way.

As for cats, I think you should get them. They don't cost but maybe 1 or 2 HP and your exhaust is less likely to drone when cruising. Cuts down on any gas smell as well.

As far as a CAI, if you have the GS/ZO6 style intake (which I think 2010's do), you already have the best intake. But it can be improved by adding a shroud to isolate the front of the intake from the hot engine bay. Other than that, the only intake I would recommend would be a Callaway Honker.

This is the advice I was looking for. Im gonna be installing myself so I want it as easy as possible. I'm gonna look into kooks long tube headers with hi flow cats. Thanks for the info.
