Cooling Fan Quit Running
I have a 07 vert LS2 and my coolant fan quit working. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Pulled the fan out and checked all the connectors and they are fine. So I suspect either my fan motor or fan module are bad. Can I just hot wire my fan directly from the battery (disconnected from the car) to the red and black terminals on the fan connector and see if it works and if so replace the module?

If it is the connector having heat damage, it may because the computer is allowing the fan to run at 100% of capacity which can overheat the connector. As I recall, several years ago GM recommended the computer allow the fan to run at no more than 88% capacity.

Update, car is now fixed ended up being the coolant fan. I tested the new fan up on top of the engine to fire it up. Ran fine then installed it and would not come on. Checked both connectors again and found one of the hot wire pins going into the fan control module had backed out slightly. Fixed that and then it worked perfect. Got the fan new with shroud ready to bolt in for $90 off Ebay no too shabby considering the Chevrolet stealership wanted close to $500.
