Drag Racing 6l80
Power setup is 900 range on nitrous.
Racing 1/8 mile
What i'm hoping to do is connect with others that have raced this trans with higher hp successfully and maybe willing to discuss tunes and tune options to get it to shift properly with out flare.
Thanks in advance

Subfloor@centurytrans here on the forum - he will be able to help out

Thanks,Matt

BTW. The first question I'd expect Christopher to ask, would be "What converter, dif gear, and tire size/brand/pressure are you running?".

The first thing I'd look at is where your 2-3 shift is set at. With more power you actually need to set your desired shift point lower than expected as the car accelerates faster than the computer is expecting so it needs more lead time to make the shift when you want it.
Next is to determine if you're trying to shift based on MPH and/or RPM. Since the 6L80E only shifts based on MPH your tune needs to reflect that.
Third, does the car not shift properly all the time or just when it's on nitrous? If it doesn't shift properly with or without it then that's an easier problem to fix as it's likely something in the tune.
Fourth, are you 100% absolutely sure it has enough fluid in it? You'd be surprised at how many mechanics still think you just add fluid until it starts spilling out of the fill hole. I'd recommend asking the guy to tell you specifically how he filled it, rather than tell him the correct technique and then ask "did you do it that way?".
Fifth, are you logging your passes to see how much wheel spin you're getting? The 6L80E is extremely temperamental when there are traction issues.
Sixth, is this happening at a decently prepped track with good tires or on the street? If it is on the street that there might be the problem as it doesn't take much to break the tires loose resulting in traction issues and subsequent shifting problems.
Seventh, I'd need to see a copy of the tune see where all the relevant values are set at.
Eighth, assuming this is happening at the track, I'd try lowering the 2-3 shift to see if you can get it to shift at all (even lower than expected) while at WOT. If you can get it to, shift albeit early, then that'd be a good starting point from which you can then bump it up gradually.
Ninth, I'd try seeing if the problem happens in both Drive and Sport as there are usually different settings for each in the tune.
Tenth, try to find somebody with a Tech 2 to do a Fast Learn procedure and Trans Adapt reset. This has helped me in the past with WOT 2-3 shifting problems I wasn't able to otherwise fix.
Hopefully this will give you some things to look at and I'll be sure to update this post if I think of anything else.
