Default No telescopic wheel........

I cannot get the steering wheel on my 2005 to go in and out when I push/pull the telescopic wheel button. Is there a fuse for this? Thanks for any opinions or comments.

I believe I remember reading on the forum that the wires in the steering column sometimes break when the tilt/telescope feature is used a lot.

The issue with the telescopic wheel was when it was extended, it would fret the wires in the connector for the SWPS(steering wheel position sensor) When this happened, it would affect the Active handling system DTC C0710
There was a TSB to install a comb into the connector, and tape it so as to prevent the connector from stretching and cause the fretting.
Since you aren't getting the Active Handling alarm, then it could well be the fuse, or possibly a bad wire at the connector.
The fuse TELE SW/MEM SEAT MOD 10A found in the passenger footwell under the front floor board.
I have the color coded electrical schematic if you need to troubleshoot further.
Good Luck

Now that you mention it- I have been getting the active handling alarm popping up on the dash quite a bit lately. So that is probably what has happened in the steering column.

I don't know how long ago the telescopic wheel quit working because I very seldom ever use it.

I bought the 2005 back in 2011 and on and off the active handling light would come on occasionally since day one. But lately it has been coming on quite a bit. I just hit the off button and shut it off. And since I never use the telescopic wheel option, I don't really know how long it has been inoperable. So this is probably the problem.

Here is the fix for the SWPS connector. Checking the TW fuse should also be checked.

Good Luck

Mine had the recalls done to the SWPS connector but still needed to be taken apart and sprayed with DeOxit electrical contact cleaner, that fixed my service SAH notification.
