My 2005 is due for a coolant change and It’s been my understanding that running the engine during a coolant flush using fresh water is detrimental to the bearings in the water pump which are lubricated by the coolant.
No coolant… no lubrication.
any input would be appreciated.
What I did, like others took in for service and told them to replace all the fluids, it was time. They have the machines to for the coolant with todays technically to suck out the old coolant, and return with fresh coolant, and no air bubbles, and have them service transmission and rear end and flush the brake system all with fresh fluid, then good for the next couple years.
I know lot of people say they do it them selfs, but at my age and no lift, I'll pay to have it done right. Let's face it these are babies and we need to treat them right.
