Default mag ride "double d" shock tool

so i need to swap in some new mag ride shocks on my zr1 and i can't find a "double d" socket to fit the end of the shock tower....

i've read that people just use locking pliers to grip the end, but that feels sketchy to me...

the helm manual doesn't have a kent moore tool number that i found....

the end appears to be 7mil at the flat....

i tried this, but no way to get at it when its mounted....

and i can't really get at the end when i put the nut on....

the helm manual isn't particularly helpful....

i thought i was just crazy but i double checked....

it looks like they just copied the c5 man pages....

Impact gun works. Snap-on sells sockets. I have one at work I can see what the number is, but may be a A139. I'm surw Matco. Mac, and others also carry them. Here's one on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/26461495237...UAAOSwAbVeMKfZ

yeah i'm suspect of the ebay ones because they don't usually have a measurement....

i picked up this one and its too small by a lot...

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the a139 sounds familiar... but its not the 7 mil....

https://shop.snapon.com/product/Shoc...er-Socket/A139

says 6 and 8....

Here we go - perhaps if it's not extremely tight then the "Universal" socket will work - the end all be all tool!

right on! well i ordered one though it looks like its not big enough.... maybe i'm just not understanding the measurements listed correctly...

considering it only needs 19lbft that shouldn't be hard to achieve....

engineers drive me crazy they always think they got a better way to do something.....

thanks 3x2! will let you know what i find when it comes in next week....
