07 Z06 Steering rack / pump rebuild
I have been reading quite a bit about the different improvements GM made to the steering with the Z06 (2008, 2009 and ultimately 2011). My understanding is that upgrade isn’t possible and the existing hardware on my 07 Z06 isn’t manufactured anymore.
I recently had a leaking high pressure steering hose replaced, but I’m wondering if I shouldn’t take advantage and rebuild the rack and pump for piece of mind. Does anyone has experience with this, and could share insights/ cost associated with such procedure?

That is VERY good information, thank you! The cost of a new pump vs rebuilding one makes me wonder what makes more sense. Not easy.
About the rack specifically, they mention: "Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a perfect seal from the Electro-Magnet wire area, but we've had great success with our sealing process to improve or stop previous leaks."
What is this Electro-Magnet wire area? And why is it so much trouble?
