Default ABS module Relocation

After lots if searching, I have not found any solid answers on relocating the ABS module. There are lots of threads on deleting it and new line kits for this but I don't think I want to lose ABS/Traction Control/Stability Control...

I am cleaning up the engine bay, redoing the wiring to hide all the wires, relocating the battery to the rear, moving the fuse block to the old battery location, ect. I want this to be old school clean and have the ability to access everything fairly easy for repairs as I work on the car alot.

One thing that always drive me nuts was the giant ABS module and bracket slammed between the radiator and power steering pump. Has anybody successfully moved this? Where did you relocate it to? Did you run all new hard lines or go with the stainless flex lines like the delete kits? Appreciate any tips, info, etc.

FWIW: On a '98 C5 the ABS module is in the rear next to the diff.

Default Any updates?

I’ve wanted to do the same thing… harness may be long enough to strip back and Relo to driver fender well. Biggest challenge is making all new hard lines.

I actually finished this set up. Moved it to the old windshield washer area. The harness reached and only had to extend 1 or 2 lines back into the engine bay. Had Finishing Lines make me the new custom lines.

I like it. The stock setup jammed the ABS module right against the power steering pump, and the EBCM against the frame rail (through model year '08) which made it difficult to service any of the above.

Install a thicker DeWitt's radiator and it only got worse, with coolant hoses pressed against the tangle of brake hard lines.

exactly. My new build is all based on function and ease of working on the car. I am also doing a custom tilt radiator so my access to all front engine accessories will be easy and will help direct radiator heat out if the engine space quicker. All my wiring will be hidden and even my fuel lines will not be in the engine bay (less chance if fires for any potential leak).

Thought about putting together a build page here but and doing it through instagram instead. Frankenstein_C6

Thats down right gorgeous. How did you extend the wiring harness? Adding this to my future list of things to do. You should def start a build thread, would love to see what else you've done

It was easier than i estimated. Once you strip back all the protective coverings, you can separate most of the wires. And it reaches without extension. The yellow/brown wire hanging needs to be extended back to your steering components.

I think it was around $700. That was from brake booster to ABS and back to all tires. Also included new lines to the calipers. All
custom made, custom color choices. I also added a quick disconnect in the rear driver wheel tub for easier disconnects when dropping the cradle.

They have my design saved so you wouldn't need to re-measure and design a new set up

Default Lay Down Radiator

I’ve also been wanting to do a lay down radiator- saw a Mallet Performance corvette at the museum years ago. I contacted Chuck at Mallet and he said it was a one off so would have to fabricate our own

Thats another thing on my list as well. The amount of room you can free up is amazing aside from the cooling benefits.

Yup, G-Speed makes a nice kit but pricey. I drew up a design and sent it to Dewitts to be built. All AN fittings and will have custom mounting points that allows me to remove the factory radiator support. I was shocked that they were able to build this for me for near the same price as their stock style set ups.

Either of you guys looked into Cerakoting the radiator or an intercooler? Been looking into it a little bit, seems like guys are having really good results.
