Default Spark Plug and Wire set recommendations

It has been a long time since I researched spark plug and wire sets. The 2008 6.2L has 40,000 miles and is exactly 14 years old. I know because I

am the original owner.

My questions is - Are there any spark plug sets and wire sets that you would recommend for use in this vehicle. To be honest from a MPG perspective this was a huge step backwards from my 2001, which got 19-20 in the city and over 29 on the highway. All opinions accepted. Thanks for keeping the forum alive.

Default Plugs and wires

Stay OEM. They lasted this long so they must be decent.

OEM plugs and GM Performance wires. The OEM wires are known to sometimes not stay connected properly on both the plug and coil ends.

Another vote for the stock plugs & wires. Also, your plugs & wires may still be in good shape as miles has more effect on them than time. Unless it just makes you feel better to spend the money & time to change out the plugs & wires. I perfectly understand that motivation.

If you change them, pay close attention to the condition of the plugs, as they will give you an understanding of each cylinders ignition process. Hopefully, no problems. Keep a record of each plug cylinder location when you pull them and post up any suspect pictures for forum analysis assistance.

Good luck & have fun.

I would stick OEM and OEM. Yes the LS3 drinks a ton more fuel than the LS1. My c5 got 24city/32hwy. When I went to 3.90 gears it went to 18city/24hwy. My grand sport gets about 15/24.

Thanks for the input. you are all right about mileage versus age but at 14 years, I would think the rubber/silicone/neoprene could start to break down.
