My original factory 2008 Z06 NAV-radio unit (#15791220; 468100-5600) was giving me many recurring problems for the last year. I just replaced it with an exact part number today from another 2008 that had been in a wreck (the seller tested it before selling it.) While on "accessory" power, the radio-CD-DVD all worked fine, however, the NAV-GPS system still thinks it is 4 States away. Then when I tried to start the car, it would not start, I assume due to anti- theft security built into the unit.
Needless to say, I can't drive it a dealer as is. How do I program in the needed changes?
PS, I know there are very good aftermarket systems but wanted to keep it factory original.
Welcome to the forum.
The unit region/home location will need to be changed for it to show it in the correct state/city. If you don't have an owners manual, you can download one online for free.
The unit anti theft message simply locks the unit itself so it can't be used. It has nothing to do with preventing your car from starting.
You may of run down your battery when you were playing with the unit.
