So I need new lenses. I am on the fence about just replacing the entire headlight instead of only the lenses. I found a set of headlights that look REALLY good for a great price. I am assuming there would be less labor involved if I just did the entire headlight vs lenses. I have watched some of the videos on Youtube on the lenses which might require putting them in the oven??? Thoughts and comments appreciated...
It may look scary, but using the oven will loosen up the adhesive that holds the lens to the assembly body. It's quite easy to change the lenses. Lot's of good instructions online on how to do it. The other option is to remove the headlight assemblies and send them out to RLSebring or to Umnitza to have them replaced.
For me I would just buy new assemblies to get better light output and to mildly update the look of the car.
I have baked a tail light lens off and replaced it. It wasn't difficult; you just have to monitor the assembly so that you can easily separate the pieces without undue effort and before parts of the lights start melting.
I replaced my lenses and added new bulbs, my low beams are still dim.
I attribute this to the reflecting dish cup inside the light having lost lost its chrome / got dull so to speak.
To remedy I did a all on mod (fog light high beam and low beam) on with high beam so I can see at night
car is so low no one bright flashes me anyway
