Hey everyone, my ARH headers just showed up and I was going to order a vararam but a shop was telling me they never run vararams on the C6 due to how much air blocks the radiator and the car heat soaking. Has anyone experienced this? I live in south florida so its always hot and humid for 75% of the year. I ran a vararam on my C5 in NJ with zero heat issues but the design is very different between the two models. Thoughts?
I have no personal experience with Vararam on C6, but I don't remember reading complaints on the forum about it causing overheating issues due to radiator blockage.
I've had a vararam on my C6 for 12 years, and have travelled in very hot summer weather in the US south, without any hesting issues. I do check the radiator fins each year for blockage from debris, and have sprayed with a hose to clean it as best as possible.
The only concern with a vararam is high water due to flash flooding. I always carry a small socket set in order to disconnect the portion between the filter and the accordion section, if I ever run into this scenario on our many road trips.
I’m in Tampa area and ran it for 2 years - no heat issues noted. Did get motor hydro locked in one of the famous rain storms. Expensive lesson to not drive in heavy rain. Switched to another variant to help not cost me again.

Thanks, I think south Florida is one of very few places that rain falling can actually cause this whereas most do it driving through a puddle
