Default TPMS Removal

Gentlemen, I have gone coil overs and know i have to delete some stuff to remove 80 mph code and i was hoping you guys had another trick to remove the TPMS codes and eliminate the entire system?? As we take these cars into the next level it seems a way to clear out such annoying areas may be out there??

Thanks for your input......................

There may be a way to program out the codes with a tech tool. Outside of that, there's a physical box you can plug into the BCM when you're running tires without TPMS sensors. It's almost $400 from LG motorsports but this site has it for $72.

https://www.lgmotorsports.com/lg-mot...liminator.html

https://www.vividracing.com/-p-15403...hoC-UkQAvD_BwE

Not sure why there's such a huge difference in price, but you may want to confirm it's the same box, the vendor is reputable, and that it will actually fix the problem you're looking to solve.

I don't really understand how the TPMS would be related to the codes you're seeing after installing coilovers. Did you have magnetic ride shocks before?

it's not that the coil overs set this.. That is just a mention as to where I am headed with my car! Just do not care to see TPMS errors anymore.

A Tech2 will remove the TPMS all together. I did this for a forum member out here, unfortunately your like 3000 miles from me….

Check with a local vette club to see if someone has a Tech2 or even here on the forum. Takes about two minutes.

Hey, will the Tech2 remove this TPMS on a 98 model Vette? I was told that only the 2000 models and above could be removed..
If this is so, do you have any suggestions for my 98...... Thanks for any advice

Only the 2001 and up C5's can the TPMS be disabled on. This is due to the 2001 Z06 not having TPMS from the factory.
All other C5 models have the TPMS enable by default. This is a function of the software loaded into the BCM.

1. Install the scan tool.
 2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
 3. With the scan tool select Chassis.
 4. Select Tire Pressure Monitor.

Works on the 2005, but remember that your still going to get the warnings, but the car will start up in Active Handling Off mode. Hence same as holding the T/C button down now, to turn off all the nannies, which may not be the best option for street driving.

Thank you sir, sadly it seems I / we are stuck with a gathering of factory dictated systems??? If one were to decide to eliminate all these factory / safety/ emission/ / handling etc.... and go strictly track, is this possible?? Love the car, but do not enjoy the control restrictions which don't see to allow us to do much??

Thoughts Please.......................!!!!!

Having lost pressure in tires at over 160mph+ down the straights, the TPMS system comes in handy to let you know that you have a problem long before you decide to last min brake at the end of the straights last second (175mph), only to over shoot the corner as the tire without air spins on the rim to break the bead during breaking/not making the corner under braking isntead.

My 2007 is stripped to the bone, I wanted to keep the oem dash, so I am running the factory BCM , abs, and unfortunately the rcdlr and receivers.

there is at least one person that is running oem abs on a c6 without the Bcm, but if you want the factory gauges I think you are stuck with the rcdlr system (which also receives the Tpms)

I have received every single wire, sensor, and harness that isn’t functioning a purpose…

Thank you sir, it seems they have taken a lot of the fun out of it I don't want to kill the car, just the unnecessary systems that do not enhance our usage??
Could it be....THE factory finally got the control at our expense???

This is not an option on my 2007. I finally borrowed my friends Tech2. TPMS went Federally mandated in 2007, so maybe they removed the ability to disable it.

Old thread sorry, anyone know if a tech 2 can disable tpms on a 2006 z? It's getting really annoying.

TPMS cannot be disabled even with a Tech2.
