I have a base 2008 C6 with 40k miles. This is my very first Corvette and for the most part I love my C6 but my love is starting to fade. Why you ask? Well the gear shifter cable failed and I am trying to replace it but this repair is starting to frustrate me. Whoever engineered this design needs to get smacked!
With that being said, has anybody ever done this repair? How do you set the upper linkage onto the bracket to lock it in with the clip? It’s so hard to get it to set since the bracket is behind the shifter opening on the tunnel.
I did not remove the exhaust but I did loosen it so that I could move it to the side so I can make more room to work. Do I need to remove anything else that would let me set the upper linkage by the gear shifter?
Any help would greatly be appreciated!
