Default C6 Z06 Exhaust

Hi folks. I just purchased a 2006 Z06 with headers, X-pipe, and Corsa exhaust. I find that the Corsa exhaust is just too loud for me, but I'm sure I'd like something a bit more aggressive than the stock exhaust. Does anyone have suggestions? Something that sounds good but doesn't wake up the whole neighborhood? Thanks! ........Steve Snider

Get a set of the bi mode mufflers like those that came with your Z06. Everything "should" be there to make them functional. You can usually buy the Z06 mufflers far cheaper than any type of Corsa mufflers. In the quiet mode, they are much quieter than your Corsa's too. You should come out ahead money wise.

Edit...I had early model Z06 mufflers (the allegedly quiet ones) on my heads/cam C6 with LS3 putting down 500 rwhp. It had 1.875" long tubes with 3" Z06 catless midpipes back to Z mufflers. It was anything BUT quiet. Plenty loud at WOT with the flaps open and nice and quiet cruising around with them closed. They were also pretty damn loud cruising with the flaps open. I was loud enough that I never do it. My current set has the muffler valves connected directly to manifold vacuum so I can't cruise around with the valves open. No controller. Go hard on the throttle and they open immediately. Otherwise they stay closed. Perfect exhaust if my view.

2nd vote for the stock exhaust.
LS7/Very mild cam/Touched up heads/Catted LG 1 7/8" headers.
Basically quiet as stock on the freeway and cruising around. No drone, which I couldn't claim with the modded stock mufflers it originally had.
Great tone when I'm on it, not blatantly loud, but still a little louder than I'd prefer....

Stock NPP mufflers with mild to wild. On my stock c6, in loud mode it was about as loud as I remember my C5 with a borla stinger type catback. Makes a decent amount of noise but nothing crazy. Stock in quiet mode the c6 is pretty much silent. It’s awful. I added 1 7/8” headers with no cats and kept the stock NPP mufflers. In loud mode it’s louder than my c5 with borla knockoffs and headers with no cats, but sounds better too. In quiet mode it’s still lame and quiet. Only a trained ear would be able to tell the car has a little somethin somethin. The NPP does crackle and pop even on a stock car. With headers it’s significantly worse. Pops more than my c5 but you can throw it in neutral and it won’t pop, and doesn’t pop and crackle at all in quiet mode.
