Default ZO6 trans question

Have a 2010 ZO6 only has 17k miles and actually may have had an issue when I bought.
3rd gear has a hard feeling when going into gear, better feeling when warm. Think this is a syncro issue or shifter?
Debating pulling the trans or trying fluid change or any adjustment.
Thanks for any input

Sounds like synchro, but usually it's an issue with 2nd gear on these TR6060s. A fluid change certainly wouldn't hurt and is obviously easier to try doing first before dropping the tranny.

I'm experiencing the same with 2nd gear and doing a fluid change in the spring with AMSOIL torque-drive.

Thanks for the reply!
I have seen that about 2nd, not sure what year yours is. Second is fine and 3rd gets better when warm so I baby it. Gonna do the fluid and see, the part I don't get is if it's auto trans fluid now and usually is pretty thin especially when used. Putting in new fluid I would think could be thicker and that it might be worse when cold.
Not afraid to pull the trans, just not in the mood!

You are more brave and skilled than me. Mine is a 2011 but it's up to 63k miles. It's only when cold, but when it's cold, I almost always go 1->3 now to prevent it getting worse. I don't understand the fluid either to be honest, but I'm going off what others have said works to improve the shifting. Redline ATF also gets really good remarks and is a little cheaper.

If you put the car in 3rd or 4th with the engine off, do you get any excess lateral movement in the shifter? When I talked to MGW earlier this week, they said that would be a sign the shifter linkage, particularly the bolt that goes into the rod, needs to be tightened or adjusted. He said the shifter would move and inch or more if this was an issue. Interested to hear what you find out.
