Default Shifter Box/Linkage Bushing Replacement?

Hi Everyone,

I just took my dash apart to switch out the springs in my Hurst shifter and noticed there is this tiny bushing torn apart where it looks like the linkage goes into the lower box (pics below). I tried to doing some searching but only found the big ring bushings for where the box attached to the car itself. Does anyone know what part this is, if its simple to replace myself, or if it's even worth replacing at all. There is a little movement around where that bushing is but not a lot. I think it might have been this way since I got the car. Thanks in advance!

Since I see an after market shifter bolted to the top of the box, get the Get MGW on the phone for a lower box.

Yes, the stock box bushings can be pressed out and replace with delrin bushing to repair it, but if you don't have a lathe and press to make/install the new bushing, then just pick up a MGW lower box that does have replaceable bushing isntead. As for the OEM lower box, will just run into the same problem shortly again.

Thanks! I do currently have the Hurst Bullet Plus shifter. While I think I could probably swap out the bushing myself, I liked your idea of replacing the whole lower box. I actually just ordered an entire new MGW shifter, so when that shows up I will have everything top to bottom swapped out. Figured I'd give the MGW a try since everyone loves them so much.

Keep in mind that the MGW shifter can come with a shaft for the stock OEM *****, or you can get it with a shaft that will accepts a thread on **** as well (or both shafts if you don't know which shifter **** type you like the best). Aslo, the shafts can be threaded all the way down to shorten the throws, or can be threaded up to increase the throw distance, and allow the shifter to shift into gear a little easier.

The last one, Since the MGW shifter box does not have a lock out, you can get the indexer plate that you use to install the lower box to get the indexing correct to the trans, then remove it to install the upper shifter assembly last.

Thanks, Dano. I did make sure I got the correct version of the shifter shaft. I decided to go with threaded and then also get the MGW race ****.
I was unaware of the indexer plate and it does sound like a good idea. Do you have a link where I can get one, or does MGW sell these as well? I wasn't able to find anything through Google. Thanks in advance!

Ok so I did call MGW and apparently the shifter comes with their indexing/alignment tool already. I don't know if maybe it used to be sold separately, but sounds like I should be good to go.
Thanks everyone for your help!
