I have an 05 and I'm putting a terminator x in and I want to retain my dash and ac functions that the normal equipment normally would run. I've found very few threads on this so I figured I'd write a post in hope someone can give their tips as to what I have to do to keep all my stock gauges working in the car. I want the benefits of the holley but want my interior to stay as close to stock functioning as possible. If anyone knows things or steps I need to take for this please help me.
originally put this in forced induction but believe this is the better section for it.
I've already been told the sensors I need for the most part but one thing I haven't found a solution to is the dbw in the car and how to handle it so the holley controls it while making it so the ecu doesn't throw codes for the pedal.
I've already contacted Fran at rpm and they don't deal with this anymore
I looked into this for my C5 build when I had it. I don't want to tell you for sure it can't be done because I believe its possible, but ditching the electronic throttle body and installing a cable is probably a must. I know folks have done it with dominator ECU's but your basically piggybacking it off the factory ECU. Im not sure what your budget is but you may want to look into ProEFI. They sell a plug and play stand alone that replaces your factory ECU and still retains gauge function and all that good stuff. I have a buddy that went to a dominator on his 05 but he lost all his gauge functionality (less the fuel gauge which i think they we're able to make work. If Holley is a must talk to Josh Tonski at Horsepower Solutions, He set up Kevins car and could probably atleast tell you what you if its even possible and if so how.
Lost here, since HP tuner or EFI live is a lot cheaper and could just use it for your needs on the Oem system instead,
Including if your going to boost, and need to change the Map sensor out to a three bar unit a well.
Stand alones are alot easier to Tune on the fly, especially say if your no prep racing or something like that. Different roads/surfaces require on the fly adjustments between rounds. Rather than your typical OE tune that pulls mapping from 100 different tables you basically are creating a fuel table, a spark table, a ve table. Lot less b.s. to worry about. Also additionally you can add in aftermarket traction control, boost by gear, all kinds of stuff you cant do with an oem setup.

Now have me lost way out in left field, since the terminator x does not have torque management control to start with.
So with HP tuner or EFI live, you can tune not only the motor, the trans, but adjust the needed level of torque management as needed as well on the C6 since the stock OEM does come with torque managment to begin with.
Bluntly, LS swap into something else, it has it place, but when it comes to the C6, just tuning the stock system is a much better option, and cost a lot less money to boot as well.

I wont disagree, Plenty of guys making big power on stock ECU's but at a certain horsepower point it does make sense to go to a Holley. I know the stock computers just dont have the resolution to drive bigger injectors... tho I agree the terminator isn't the logical choice. Either an HP or Dominator is far more suited. As far as trans control on a 6l80e I'm not sure if they can control them or not...stand alone controller for the trans perhaps? I dont know OPs goals so its hard to say but I can see going Holley or EFI live if his build has the need for it.
