Default ADR7 Camshaft

First off this is kind of a two part question. I’m currently in the process of rebuilding a LS7 that I bought for my 04 Silverado prerunner. When I bought the motor I was told it was stock. I’m building the top end before installing it in the truck. After opening it up I noticed that it’s pretty clean inside which is comforting. I started pulling pushrods and quickly realized COMP isn’t stock Then I pulled the cam and realized it’s not stock either so my build quickly slowed down trying to figure out what had already been modified. I’ve replaced the cam with a TSP 3.2 cam and I have BTR .660 springs to put in it. I haven’t figured out of the current valvetrain is upgraded. My two questions are does anyone have the specs on the ADR7 LS7?

Second, should the wear on these lobes worry me as far as lifters go? I do isn’t want to pull the heads off I didn’t have to but I also don’t want to kick the can down the road for another tear down.

I should have mentioned that I did some research to include reading through that thread which I think even mentioned the fact that the specs were hard to come by. I’m really looking for the specs to possibly resale the cam as I’m going to stick with the TSP 3.2.

No way I'd install that engine before adding new lifters. So far, it's been surprises every step of the way. You've got it out now. Pulling the cylinder heads while it's sitting on an engine stand is cake. That will give you a chance to look over the cylinder heads and cylinder bores too.

Yeah with every day that goes by that’s how I’m starting to lean and I know a few hundred $$$ is less than a ticking time bomb. But part of me is scared to keep digging and the build budget has quadrupled already . I know, first world problems haha. I was really hoping someone with any Advanced Dyno info would chime in. I’m curious as to what the story was with that shop.

NO DOUBT!! Totally agree with Old Motorhead. Do it while its easiest to do, which is now. I'd highly recommend new lifter trays, as well. I replace both the 4 trays AND all 16 lifters whenever the heads are off. Then, you'll know what you have, 100%. BTW, you may be able to send that cam in to a vendor, or somebody, to have your specs, like LSA, duration, duration@.050" lift, etc, graphed. Could be just the cam youre looking for. You'll never know unless you try. My .02.....
