Is a trans and diff brace (like ecs brace) needed for a tr6060 with around 800whp? Also are the stock diff mounts ok or is there an upgrade for those too? Back tires are 20 inch R888Rs btw...
I'm not 100% sure that it's needed but I have it on my GS making 1400rwhp, It definitely helps at the power level but it also depends on how you drive the car.
In my humble opinion if you are roll racing from 60mph on... I would say (not needed). If you aren't dead hooking the car (not needed). If you don't run drag slicks or drag radials (not needed)
If you want a piece of mind...Needed !
As for the diff mounts and trans mounts I would leave those stock... I have a lot of experience and a lot of my friends have found that when you switch these out for stronger ones other things start to break like side covers and even cases like the diff case.
I'm sure others will contradict my statement but this is my experience.
If you drive the car chill and just like to drive fast or accelerate fast while already going fast you don't need it.
Hope this helps.

We have had stock cars come in with the cracked diff from excessive wheel hop, I figure it's cheap insurance being it's around 10% the cost of fixing the problem if it does occur.

Does the brace help stop the wheel hop, or just strengthen the diff so it's less likely to break when the wheel hop happens?
The ECS diff brace in my C5 did not stop my wheel hop. By the time I fixed the wheel hop, I had already broken my diff and trans. After messing with a few different things, my wheel hop was from my tires being too old and hard. Some guys draw it back to suspension geometry. Seems to happen a lot with street tires, and thats why I never run down the drag strip on a street tire anymore. I will likely be doing a brace on my C6 especially if I start bringing it to the track, which I want to do.
I put one on my car. Did I need it? No clue, but I haven't broken anything. Cheap insurance. I also have Hinson diff and engine mounts, urethane bushings and coilovers, no wheel hop issues.
I had everything out while replacing a destroyed guibo. I looked into what else I could "upgrade" while I had it that far apart. I installed the ECS brace. I regret not installing a torque tamer but it appears it might be installable without dropping anything or having to drop as much or as far. That is a shiny, new torque tube because the bolt that exited the guibo also exited the torque tube, leaving a hole. The torque tube also showed signs of twisting when everything became wedged together and the driveshaft continued to spin. If it had not shown the twist, I would have just welded the hole in the tube up.

Welcome to the bent torque tube club. There aren’t a ton of us. It sucks when it happens but I usually say congrats because it means you were driving it right!
