Default Tech2 help

Good evening brothers and sisters. I’ve recently changed out my shocks and now get thee ol max 80 mph dash message. After further research error can be fixed with a gmtech2 mechanism. I reside in Texas but willing to drive if any one near me or not has one so I can fix this issue. For compensation of course!

Here are the steps to follow once you have access to a Tech2.

Started off giving you the instructions for a C5. C6 is a bit easier, Nothing needs to be unplugged. You need to get into the Body Control module menus and remove the asterisk (*) on the Real time dampening option.

If you were local to me I would help with this. Takes about 15 min or less.

Mr Gary what are your thoughts on the plug in suspension simulators?

The simulator do not work for the F55 system used in the C6.

Walk in the park and just need to either buy a Tech II clone, or find someone near you that has one isntead.

Tech 2 on the car, if 2005, use 2005 as the year, but it later year with VX GM nano, use 2003 as the car year and Y body type to get you into the BCM list.
Go into BCM module, then module set up. Will get that car is USA model so agree to that in the first part, then in the RPO cost list, will see that real time damping has a asterisk, so deselect it, then click OK to finish up deactivating the F55 in the car. In a C6, you do not have to remove/disconnect the module, just deselect real time damping in the BCM RPO programming list.

On regards to 2003 or older C5, pretty much the same but before you shut the car off, you have to unplug the F55 module from the system, since when the car is turned on again, if the BCM sees the F55 on the lan bus, it will turn it back on in the BCM.

On the 2004 C5, whole different story, since the F55 programing is in a few of the modules, so not only do you have to do the above like on the older C5's, but you have to reflash some of the other modules to delete the F55 programming out of them (need TIS2000 as well). If you look at the Firmware editions on the Tis2000 for the rest of the modules, any firmware that lists with or without F55 in the description, will be the modules that will need to be reflashed without the F55 options,
