I just got a 2005. The doors don't want to open when I have the FOB in my pocket. Well, most of the time. If I unlock the door with the FOB, then the door opens. I replaced the battery in one of them. The other battery was good. The lock, unlock, and trunk buttons work fine. The passenger door is almost impossible to get to work. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick? Are the door touch pads failing? Am I not holding my tongue in the right position when I touch the pad?
The touch pads are probably on the way out. My 2007 passenger door acted like that a year or so ago. I purchased two pads and replaced the one and put the other one away until it's needed.
This is the part number I ordered, from Amazon, you will need to make sure it takes the same one:
Genuine GM 22751230 Door Latch Release Switch, Exterior
I just changed them on my 2008. There are threads on opening and cleaning them. Didn't seem worth the effort since they were only $30 on Ebay. The part number listed above is the same one I ordered. Very simple to replace and made a world of difference.
Do the doors open without issue from the inside? If so I think the door pad is probably your issue.
If you have trouble with opening the door from both inside and out it is probably the door actuator. You would be hearing it click and do nothing to unlatch the door. That is a close to a $300 part.
Looks like RockAuto caught on and raised their price. They list it as a trunk release and don't show it as a part for corvettes. Same picture of the part. I'm just glad it's an easy thing.

That was the easiest fix I have ever done on a corvette. Amazon prime had the part here on the second day. 2 screws, done. It took me longer to get the cover off the car than to fix the problem. I will clean the old ones and have them as spares.
Thanks for the help.
