Friend has a pair of drag radials that have 100 easy miles on them and I can have them for half what he paid. Problem ? They are 275-40-18. Looks like a C5 rear wheel 18 x 9.5 would work. Has anybody tried this? They are same height as the 285-35-19 so no issues with the cars electronics.
They should work fine except check the backspacing making sure they wont tear your fenders off.
I have a set of 315/35/16 DR Nittos on a set of 8.5" rims of my 98 T/A. They will make my 2.56 gears in my base just like the Z51 geared 2.73 performance gears. Ill be trying those soon. I have herd this can be done. If I get any big problems Ill get out the HP tuners and punch in 2.73 gears in the ratio section and try it again. I have a hole tune from a same year Z-51 auto like mine too. Just hope they clear the caliper and fender like your friends.
I bought my 2013 C6 base model used. The PO liked those gosh awful C5 wagon wheels and that's what he rolled with. They fit just fine. Don't remember the exact sizes but they were close to C6 sizes in height. Just 18" rear and 17" front. Currently using them for hose racks. They work fine for that too.
