I just finished my install of a base model t56 m6 tranmssion on my corvette. The issue is I have a z51 which have trans fluid temp sensor. My replacement base trans do not have it.
So im knocking myself in the head now. My connector is just hanging. Is there a defeat or bypass for these tran fluid temp? Will it throw engine codes if left unplugg. Do I need to get a protune to get rid of it? Should attempt to install one? The thought of drilling & tapping my transmission is a bit of a nerve wreck but almost seen pretty straight forward. Haven't seen anyone install a tft on a base trans yet that I've seen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. . My county have emissions so I can't have codes.

Take old sensor, dip it in 200* water for a few mins, the use multi meter to see the Ohm resitance across it prongs when it reading 200*.
Now go buy that value of a resistors, and install it across the sensor connector prongs.
The trans temp will always read 200, but you will not get any codes.

Wow that's great advice. I can turn a wrench but I have zero experience when it comes to electrical connections. I'll definitely attempt what you suggested. I hate the fact that I may have to drill and tap into my transmission if i exhuasted all other options. A bit nerve wrecking for me.

Purchase a new or used sensor. The sensor goes into the "FILL" plug and replaces the fill plug.
