Default Traction Control Active (just installed bigger tires)

Hello everyone,

This is my first corvette so I’m sorry if this is a dumb question..

I just put 315/35/17 Race Star’s on the read of my c6 and when I was driving down the highway today around 60-70 mph my “traction control active” light came on.. it kind of jerked the car a little, then it wouldn’t let me get above 70mph..

I’ve read online that putting bigger tires on can cause issues with the traction control..

front tires are 245/40/18
rear tires are 315/35/17

I would like to keep the rear race star set up.. do your know what size front tire I would need to fix this issue? Does the rear tire need to be thicker?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

The rear tires are actually too small in your case. Unless you got smaller fronts, you’ll have that. You can always disable traction control or go to competitive driving mode, which will still allow you to use cruise control.

I went with 275-40-18 drag radials for this exact reason. Nitto 555RII. They are the same height as the 285-35-19 that came stock.
