Default C6 Critical Electrical Issues

Hello,

I have a 2006 3LT base convertible 'vette. For over a year now my vehicle has experienced this issue where (normally while driving) the radio, oil psi gauge, engine temp gauge, fuel gauge, A/C, windows, and both door buttons stop working suddenly. I've had the alternator, battery, and BCM all swapped out once and tested numerous times. I've also had the grounds, wiring, and fuses checked. Not sure if this is related, but before this issue presented itself, my HUD went out, but I just haven't gotten it fixed yet. In addition, I have a Sony XAV-AX200SXM installed with a backup camera. Other than that. no alterations have been made to the vehicle. The images below are what the dash looks like when the aforementioned issue presents itself.

Furthermore, here lately my car will ding a few times and show on the instrument cluster "SERVICE VEHICLE SOON" then my cruise control will instantly stop working, along with occasionally saying "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM". This seemed like a minor issue, but now, my brake pedal has been frequently making a clicking noise when I press it upon startup and I can feel the click in my foot. When this happens and I go to shift the car in to drive, the button on the shifter won't go down, as if the car is sensing that the brake pedal is not pressed. If I kill the car and go to start it again, the car will often not detect that pedal is pressed and will not start. I'm not sure if any of these issues are at all related. Please help!

My suggestion would be to check the blue connectors under the passenger floorboard. If a passenger pushed hard on the floorboard, it's possible that it contacted the connectors and shifted them a bit causing fretting and loss of contact to certain systems. Those alarms that you are receiving are common to this issue. Remove the connectors, check the pins, add dielectric grease to them, then reinstall. If that was the cause, use pencil erasers as spacers under the floorboard to prevent this from happening again.
Good Luck

Do not use Dielectric Grease, it is an insulator. You want all of the pins to be clean and dry.
In appropriate use of Dielectric grease keeps being mentioned on the forum when anyone has an issue with connections (ground terminals or connectors in wet areas).
Dielectric grease can be used on the body of the plug to prevent moisture from entering or cover an ground terminal once it has been attached to the ground point.

Gary is correct as far as dielectric grease on the pins, to add to that I would use a high quality elec. contact cleaner such as Deoxit on the pin terminals

I am not having a problem, but after reading the thread you posted a link to, I found all 4 of my fuse box studs slightly loose ... tightened the 4 studs

Thanks for the link
