Pulling my 08 out of storage this week and changing the whole exhaust, figure while it's on the lift I'll change my differential and gearbox fluid. Any suggestions for brand, was thinking Royal Purple or Amsoil but have heard good things about Redline as well.

I used the GM brand gear oil in the diff on mine as I have read the other brands sometimes lead to chatter and/or whining from the rear gear. For my trans (tr6060) I went with Royal purple synchromax.

I also tried royal purple on my tr6060 but did not like it. It made it notchier. I went back to oem. Like it much better. OP, just stick with factory. There is nothing wrong with them and in most cases( unless you are racing or tracking) they are the best.
I used Redline, but it was so thick that figure 8's wouldn't pack the clutches and the rear end was noisy. I flushed out that brand, and refilled with AC Delco OEM fluid, and no issues with noise. I don't know why I let my son talk me into using Redline. He owns a speed shop and most guys, including him that race use Redline or Royal Purple. They torture their stuff, possibly why they want a thicker fluid such as Redline. I know from experience that it doesn't do well in my C6 with the Z51 option.
Manual gear box? BG Products Syncro Shift II you will not believe how quite the car will get! Specifically made to replace the ATF in a manual gear box
LS7 in my C5. I have 125,000 miles on my car. The last 60,000 miles with an LS7 in it. Never any trouble with diff. I changed my diff fluid@100,000 miles, used the GM stuff. I have an A4, changed that@same time as diff, but you obviously need different lube for your trans. I use OEM lube for both. It may not be the absolute best lube in the world, but it's a lot closer to the best than it is to the worst!!
