As the title states... what are the best lifters available right now for a mild duty street LS engine that will rarely see above 6500 and isnt and LS7 lifter (so far theyve cost me 3 motors lol). I've heard a couple guys say the new Cadillac lifters are a good choice, also heard a few say the Morel 7177 drop ins are a good choice. Ideally I'd like to keep a standard push rod length to save the headache. I doubt I need a link bar setup but open to everyone's thoughts. Cam profile is going to be pretty mild... Not trying to shoot for the moon with numbers, just want reliability and valvetrain stability. Thanks in advance!

For some reason, I had the idea that you were going to keep it stock !
I've just installed the Johnson 2110 and are working very well. Only have a about 100 miles on them but I barely hear any valvetrain noise. I did have to go with a different length pushrod since preload for them .035.

its a joke lol, (the joke being my life lol)... famous last words have always been "i SwEaR iM GoNnA LeAvE tHiS oNe StOcK"... swore it with this one too but went down the rabbit hole last year with a Cam and fbo lol.
Morel 7717’s are the way to go. They are better than stock LS7 lifters and are at a good price point. Preload is less but that is easy to deal with as you will need a 0.025 shorter pushrod. 7.375 instead of 7.400.
Lifter shopping myself also and I’m def not using LS7 lifters. I had one go down on me with less than 3k miles on them… my opinion is the Johnson 2110’s are prob the best lifter but they are pricey and you will need a different pushrod length.
The next best choice, and they ones I’m going to use on my build, are the Morel 7717’s. These are supposed to be better than the LS7 lifters but as mentioned they will need a shorter pushrod because they require less preload.
My installer said he would measure but my guess is I’ll prob end up with a 7.375 pushrod, I’m wanting to run about .055-.060 preload on them.
To keep the same pushrod length you could use the GM “caddy race lifters”. They are supposed to be good too but they are around $500 and have mixed reviews.
