Weather was great today and I was able to meet up with my tuner. My car is a bone stock 2011 GS A6 except for the Vararam I just installed and the Corsa Sport that the previous owner had installed. Tuner first compared my 2011 tune to one of the 2012 GS to try to mimic the differences that starting in 2012. He mimic that settings that affect paddle shift speeds and also the pressures and such. Most of the info is over my head but he made some preliminary changes and then we drove around and did some pulls. We stopped and he made some more changes and then repeated the process. I'm very happy with the difference. I also mentioned to him how I didn't really like how the car shifted into the next gear(like into 2nd gear at 10mph) at lower throttle and he made some adjustments shift points to hold the car in gear a little longer(even at light throttle). This has totally made the car more fun to drive.
I don't use paddles much but they are drastically more responsive now.... especially on the downshift. The upshift isn't instant but it's significantly better than it was. All in all, I'm very happy and recommend something like this to anyone that isn't totally happy with how their A6 shifts.
I agree that a good tune will wake up the A6. With some other mods over the last couple months I don’t chirp between 1-2 or 2-3 I smoke until I let up… or start going down the road sideways.
Something else I had him do was to make "Drive" and "Sport that exact same number shifting numbers. So Sport will be for using paddles only and Drive mode will have the same performance but will shift automatically.

Absolutely. The graph shows wheelspin when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd at 75mph.

Here's one of the street pulls. I'm pretty ignorant on this tuning stuff.
I have screen shots of the before and after shift points but I can't figure out how to view them. They are HPT files. Any help with this would be appreciated.
TSP Stage 1 cam, LT headers, Soler performance throttle body, CAI, dyno tune.
