Default Battery Parasitic Drain/Found Problem - Next???

Hey guys. I posted this over in general and haven't got any response.

I have a 2008 with a parasite draw that I found. I started pulling all the fuses in the under hood box and found fuse #7 batt5 to be the culprit as mentioned in another thread. After removing that 30amp fuse. Electrical draw fell way down to acceptable levels. (.40 milliamps)

Turns out that 30 amp runs 6 circuits as mentioned in another thread :

1. Body Control Module (BCM)
2. Tele Sw / Mem Seat Module
3. Driv Dr Sw
4. Ign Sw / Intr Sens
5. OnStar
6. TPA Fuses

Well my problem is the "TELE SWITCH/MSM" as marked on my footwell panel. I pulled this 10amp fuse and the draw is within acceptable limits again.

Any ideas how I should proceed from here?

I remember there was a recall for something regarding the seat but I think it was regarding a plug that could become loose by sliding the power seat back and fourth over time; but I thought that recall said it would cause a airbag light.

Thanks ahead of time everyone. Thanks to this forum I was able to track down the problem to this level.

I'm guessing I need to be looking into tearing that seat out and looking into that memory module possibly which I assume is buried inside the seat of course...
OR
could it be something with the telescoping electronics drawing power

Any Ideas?

Do anyone know how hard it is to get to the actuator motor for the telescoping column? I think I rather eliminate that before tearing into the seat.

Well it was real easy to unplug the power to the telescoping column... And that's not my problem sadly; even with it unplugged the amp draw was still high.

I left that 10amp fuse out for a week now and my battery was still holding 12+ volts, normally with that fuse plugged in, it would kill my battery in about 3-4 days.
So that only leaves the memory seat module that must be killing my battery.

I can either leave the fuse out and lose my power seat and telescoping function or go tearing into the bottom of the seat.

I have exact same car and I remember long ago unplugging the OnStar box, it's located behind the passenger side small storage box in the rear corner. Unless you want/use OnStar it's always drawing power. Simple check to see if this is part of your current draw? Takes 5 minutes to unplug the module.

Or you can do what I did on my GS .. Just pull the 'OnStar' fuse (located in the passenger side foot well fuse panel)

Keep us posted if you find an answer. I am having the same issue.

Mine also has an unacceptable draw that I have started to work on. Thanks for sharing what you are finding!

I just pulled my On Star fuse as Turbo 6TA suggested and will see if that helps.

Well, Diane and I both came down with the covid this week so we are just laying low. Both of us are triple vaxed so it just seems like a cold. My daughter insisted we get tested and it came out positive. Since not much else to do, I found your old thread yesterday and decided to pull the On Star fuse. Every so often I go out to take the car for a cruise and the battery is drained. Sometimes it seems like it was only 4 days or so since the vehicle had been driven. So I thought I give this a try. Nothing to loose.

Now I am a little worried ... I have had my two Moderna shots plus the one booster. For the last 2 days I have not felt good at all. Feels like a cold (kinda weak, kinda ache all over, not much energy, sneezing).

I just remembered that I have those four COVID-19 at-home test kits the government was sending everyone that asked for one ... I think that after typing this, I am going to open the box and test myself.

That is the way it started with me. The upside is I have had worse colds in the past so I guess the vax is helping to minimize the symptoms.

Caught it in August of last year (same day I received my Johnson shot).... Only symptom I had was a headache and loss of taste for about a month. Taste is still not right. Free and clear since without a booster. I think it really depends on the person's immune system.

BTW..... Great info on the parasitic loss.... Pulled the OnStar fuse about a month ago and nice to know this helps.
